Residents Abroad is now offering in-hospital training opportunities across the globe and will continue to offer a variety of training opportunities in different countries and contexts. Residents Abroad provides a multilateral platform, abolishing the archaic North-North or unidirectional North-South medical programs and thus creates a more equitable marketplace. Moreover, international rotations are made accessible to all residents, not only for well connected and well-resourced. This principle of horizontal equity in Residents Abroad will make equity in health education the new standard. The innovation will provide better training opportunities, more hands-on training, exchange of expertise, and connect supply and demand within the health system of international medical education. The platform is developed in collaboration with the Harvard Innovation Labs and with the support from faculty of the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
